Lansing Youth Sailing supports both high school and middle school programs. High school teams in the Lansing Youth Sailing program are members of the Northeast League of the Midwest Interscholastic Sailing Association (MISSA) conference, which is part of a larger national conference known as the Interscholastic Sailing Association (ISSA). The teams typically compete in events across the state of Michigan, as well as northern Indiana and Ohio. The availability of regattas through MISSA and ISSA allows for opportunities to compete in regional, national, and connections to international competitions.
Middle school sailors are offered the opportunity to learn to sail the boats and racing rules and participate in middle school events. 8th Grade sailors are allowed to participate in select MISSA events as well.
Lansing Youth Sailing and Lansing Sailing Club host two MISSA events annually. The Cider Cup Regatta is held in the Fall season and the Capital City Regatta in the Spring season.
